What is it?
The Air Training Corps (ATC) is a cadet organisation based in the United
Kingdom. It is a voluntary youth group which is affiliated to and supported
by the Royal Air Force, however the cadets and majority of staff are
civilians. It is not a recruiting organisation, although a number of
its members do go on to join the RAF or other services.
Aims & Motto
The Aims of the Air Training Corps are:
To promote and encourage among young men and women a practical interest
in aviation and the Royal Air Force.
To provide training which will be useful in the Services and civilian
life.
To foster the spirit of adventure.
To develop qualities of leadership and good citizenship.
The Air Training Corps Motto is "Venture Adventure".
HRH The Duke of Edinburgh serves as honorary Air Commodore-in-Chief.
